bio
Danita got her first point-and-shoot Kodak for her 10th birthday. She ran barefooted around her family's farm, happily snapping candid shots of the chickens, cows, ponies and her baby brothers. Recording moments with a camera is still one of Danita's favorite pastimes, although as an adult, she's conformed to wearing shoes when on assignment. |

Danita is an award-winning photographer. In 2006-2007, her photographs won 16 blue ribbons and 3 best-of-class awards. She's worked professionally for the past 10 years. She's done assignments -- both writing and photography -- for several Oregon newspapers, including the Albany Democrat-Herald, Corvallis Gazette Times and Mid-Valley Sunday.
Two Oregon authors hired Danita to take their portraits for their book jackets and websites. In 2007, Danita shot the cover art for a romance novel. She's taken high school senior and family portraits, done pet photograhy, and photojournaled events such as the Oregon Association of Mounted Posse's State Trail Ride. But photographing weddings is one of her favorite jobs. From the moment the bride slips into her gown to the traditional tossing of the bouquet, weddings are filled with emotion, poignancy and cherished family memories. Danita is honored each time a couple chooses her to take the special photographs of one of the most important days of their lives.
